Sloan Introduces Track on™ Run on Detection Solution to Help Reduce Water Waste
Sloan, the world’s leading manufacturer of commercial plumbing systems, has launched Sloan Track‑on, an innovative, first-of-its-kind run‑on detection solution designed to help facility teams identify and respond to flushometer issues before they escalate.
Installed in place of a standard vacuum breaker, on exposed top‑spud flush valves, Sloan Track‑on continuously monitors for run‑on conditions and alerts maintenance teams when extended water flow is detected, helping reduce water waste, minimize the risk of facility damage, and avoid unnecessary utility costs.
“Sloan Track‑on reflects our ongoing focus to develop practical solutions that address everyday challenges in commercial restrooms,” said Rolando Zambrano, Sloan’s Product Line Manager, Flushometers and Fixtures. “By providing clear, timely alerts, Track-on helps customers respond more quickly and maintain confidence in their systems’ performance.”
Run‑on conditions can occur when a flushometer becomes stuck open, leading to excessive water use and potential flooding damage if left unaddressed. Sloan Track‑on is designed to detect these conditions after approximately 30 seconds and trigger an alert, enabling facility teams to take action sooner.
Available as both a retrofit solution and as part of Sloan’s most popular flushometers, Sloan Track‑on offers flexibility for a wide range of commercial restroom applications. The solution is compatible with industry‑standard exposed flush valves, including those from other manufacturers, making it a practical upgrade option for both new construction and existing facilities.
Facilities can choose between two alert methods:
- IoT‑enabled (SMT) model, which connects to Sloan’s SC Argus® Pro IoT platform to deliver text or email notifications
- Audible alarm model, which emits a local alert for up to 72 hours or until the condition is resolved
Both configurations are designed to support proactive maintenance strategies, whether teams are on site or managing facilities remotely, while also helping organizations advance water‑efficiency goals.A single run-on event can waste up to 30 gallons of water per minute, driving up water and sewage costs, risking water damage, and creating unnecessary strain on building systems.
Designed for ease of installation, Sloan Track‑on installs similarly to conventional vacuum breaker connections, allowing contractors and maintenance professionals to integrate the solution without adding complexity. The solution is available in multiple configurations for water closets and urinals, with a range of retrofit assemblies and integrated flushometer options available at launch.
