A historic landmark, Wrigley Field has always been more than just a ballpark – it’s a symbol of tradition, community, and innovation. Throughout its storied history, the ballpark has consistently adapted to meet the evolving needs of its fans while preserving its iconic charm.
When the Cubs recently sought to enhance their sustainability efforts and fan experience, they entrusted Sloan, the team’s Official Water Efficiency Partner, to deliver a modern solution. The result was the installation of Sloan’s DropSpot™ Bottle Fillers and Water Coolers, revolutionizing the way visitors access drinking water.
Wrigley Field - DropSpot™ Bottle Fillers and Water Coolers
The Cubs environmental strategy includes integrating sustainability into their ballpark operations and supporting green initiatives in the community. As part of their effort, they added water bottle refill stations at Wrigley Field to provide filtered drinking water to fans. DropSpot’s advanced filtration systems offer a "Total PFAS filter" which removes a broader spectrum of PFAS among other particulates, ensuring fans have access to filtered drinking water as they cheer on the home team.
In addition, all Sloan fixtures installed in restrooms at Wrigley Field are sensor-activated and operated hands-free, including Sloan’s innovative BASYS® Faucets and Soap Dispensers as well as Sloan’s 1.28 gpf flushometers for toilets and 0.125 gpf flushometers for urinals that save up to 1/3 gallon of water with every flush.
Strategically placed throughout Wrigley Field’s main concourse and Budweiser Bleacher concourse, Sloan’s DropSpot stations feature a sleek stainless-steel design that blends into the architectural updates of the concourse and Budweiser Bleachers while maintaining durability in high-traffic environments. Additional stainless-steel cane aprons were included to comply with ADA requirements.
The addition of DropSpot Bottle Fillers and Water Coolers at Wrigley Field comes after Sloan touch-free restroom products have been installed at Wrigley Field as well as Sloan Park, the Cubs’ Spring Training facility, which include sensor faucets, soap dispensers, hand dryers, and flushometers, as well as sinks, urinals, water closets, flushometers, sinks, and more.
Facility maintenance teams at Wrigley Field are benefiting from the enhanced durability and reliability of Sloan’s DropSpot stations. Each unit comes equipped with clearly marked filter indicators, making it easier to schedule maintenance sessions proactively. In addition, Sloan’s expertise in engineering craftsmanship simplifies upkeep even with the high levels of foot traffic on gamedays. The comprehensive design ensures a seamless balance between functionality and durability.

"The Chicago Cubs have enjoyed a longstanding partnership with Sloan and are excited to add the new DropSpot Bottle Fillers and Water Coolers to Wrigley Field for fans to utilize while at the ballpark. We trust Sloan's expertise in water efficiency, which is why we partnered with them to bring these products to Wrigley Field."
