Built in 1931 and located just 10 miles from downtown Los Angeles, the Pasadena Convention Center is a premier meeting and events venue nestled in the heart of Pasadena, CA. The Pasadena Center was built around its historic auditorium, which includes a conference center building with meeting rooms, an exhibit hall, and ballroom building with much larger spaces to accommodate trade shows and large banquets.
After decades of use, the conference center needed some upgrades—including the restroom. With a high volume of restroom traffic, the convention center wanted its new restrooms to leave a lasting positive impression on its guests and ease the burden on the facility’s maintenance team. The solution was a full suite of Sloan touch-free products—including sinks, faucets, soap dispensers, hand dryers, and sensor flushometers for water closets and urinals.
For a high-traffic venue like the Pasadena Convention Center, maintaining a clean and welcoming restroom environment is no small feat. To meet these demands, Sloan installed its revolutionary AER-DEC® Integrated Sink Systems.
This all-in-one solution combines the basin with the faucet, soap dispenser, and hand dryer into one cohesive touch-free system. With everything located within arm’s reach, the sink system eliminates water drips from users walking to separate dryers, reducing slip risks and easing maintenance efforts.

The remodeled restrooms feature Sloan’s SOLIS® Sensor Flushometers (SOLIS 8111 and SOLIS 8186) for its ST-2459 Wall-mounted Water Closets and SU-7409 Washdown Urinals. These innovative fixtures are solar-powered, battery-operated, and designed to balance cutting-edge technology with environmental stewardship.
Restrooms in high-traffic facilities endure intense wear over time, presenting challenges for maintenance and hygiene standards. Sloan addressed these concerns at the convention center by specifying its proprietary SloanTec® Hydrophobic Glaze for all water closets and urinals.
SloanTec adds hydrophobic and oleophobic properties to vitreous china fixtures, providing lasting benefits including enhanced hygiene, ease of maintenance, and durability.
